You might be wondering… why does PARS have some negative reviews online?

It is difficult to know the basis for a poor review, in part given the confidential nature of our services. I have completed thousands of assessments, and I strongly value integrity, honesty, and respect. If we have failed to do our job, I would encourage anyone to follow up with my office so that concerns might be addressed. It is my common practice to solicit feedback from our clients at the end of the assessment process to address concerns in a constant effort to improve the service we provide.

At PARS we strive to create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere to allow our clients to feel comfortable during the assessment process. We appreciate that having to participate in an assessment such as ours can be anxiety-provoking and intimidating, especially if you have been referred by a third party such as an insurance company or a defence lawyer. Please be assured that we address any barriers that might be present to prevent your full engagement in the process, that you be treated with respect and understanding, and that we will endeavour to create the conditions to allow you to perform to the best of your ability. Our ultimate goal is to understand your unique challenges / limitations and how these issues might be affecting your ability to carry on your usual activities. The report generated from the assessment will contain a summary of the information collected, impressions about the underlying cause of any issues identified, and recommendations for further assessment or treatment if warranted. The overriding goal of the assessment is to arrive at a clear and full understanding of the issues / barriers that might be affecting a person’s optimal functioning.

What we expect of our clients is really quite simple: a willingness to engage in the assessment process; openness and truthfulness in responding to questions (e.g. during the interview and during completion of psychological tests / symptoms surveys that assess your emotional status);  and, an effortful approach to cognitive tasks (e.g., tests looking at your ability to pay attention, remember things and solve problems, among others). While the tests look at a range of abilities, from easy to hard, we endeavour to create an atmosphere that will allow you to perform to the best of your ability. If you are experiencing uncomfortable levels of anxiety, fatigue, or pain, we will support you as best we can, including taking breaks as needed, to manage these symptoms to allow you to perform to full capacity. I would encourage you to contact my office if you have any concerns or require further information prior to your appointment.
